The National Paediatric and Adolescent HIV and TB call center was launched on 1st December 2015 to assist health workers who face challenges in HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis care and treatment among children and adolescents. The expert guidance is provided by a team of doctors, counselors and pharmacists through the toll free national helpline to health workers across the country. Between December 2015 and June 2016, over 900 health workers comprised of doctors, nurses, counselors, midwives, and VHTs from across the country called the call center seeking guidance on a wide range of issues on HIV, Tuberculosis, EID, PMTCT, counseling and medical logistics. During the period, a mass awareness campaign was done about the call center through the mass media, SMSes to health workers, presentations in meetings and conferences in addition to reaching District Health Officers and health facilities in 45 districts. In a partnership with CHC, the center number was placed on IEC materials used in the mass media and interpersonal communication.
