Call Centre

National Pediatric and Adolescent HIV/TB Call center (0800205555/0800305555).

  • Toll free consultation service launched on 1st December 2015 at the International world AIDS day.
  • It’s main objective is to provide real time paediatric and adolescent HIV/AIDS/TB technical responses to consultations raised by health workers and clients across Uganda.
  • Clients services include; VMMC consultations, Key populations inquiries, HIVSelf testing queries country wide, Research and ART patients assistance.
  • Over all, since 2015, the center has received over 29,221 consultations and out of these, 5979 are from both Health workers mainly in the HCIIIs.
  • 69% of calls are from Nurses and Clinical officers regarding among others; Opportunistic infections, Treatment failure, TB diagnosis, early infant diagnosis and drug dosing.
  • The center has been marketed to achieve up to 91% coverage in Uganda.
  • Majority of the callers (54%) fall in the age category of 25 and above.

NB: The number of calls have been increasing gradually year by year but in 2018, the COE clinic received a sub grant status and funding for marketing the toll free declined however as other projects like VMMC sought its support, more callers were registered.
