Wesige Scovia, 24, lives in Nakaseke district. She conceived while in primary school. After giving birth, she had nothing to do. Her husband encouraged her to attend the vocational skills training and weekly behavioral change sessions. After the completion of her tailoring course, she received SSP in August 2022 and used it to start a business with a current working capital of UGX 500,000 and a profit of about UGX 10,000 from each dress or trouser that she makes. This has enabled her to purchase a solar panel, two pigs, and one goat, which she rears at home. She plans to purchase an interlocking electric sewing machine when she sells her livestock in December 2023 to improve on the quantity and quality of her final products and earn more money. Her main goal is to have a healthy and financially transformed home where she, her partner, and her children are happy. She would also like to train community women and male youth when she purchases a second sewing machine.
